Please notice that the hinge is on the side Where The Evaporator Is. We don’t encourage this because it is a bit difficult to design, requires more customer field measurements, is more costly and is a bit limited to relatively light covers (under about 800 pounds or so). The hinge must be shortened to clear the evaporator. Normally we advise customers with that condenser and evaporator arrangement that the hinge “must” or should be located on the side opposite the evaporator. If we show the video or if we show it without a caption of some sort we can encourage the thought that it can be done. We may lose the “argument” that it has to be mounted on the side opposite the evaporator. It is a great video. It shows a customer opening and closing the cover with ease. One other comment about “with ease” that I’d like your opinion on. Not all coves open and close with one finger. Some have to actually be pulled and pushed open. Not a tremendous force required But not always as easy as the one shown. We don’t want anyone seeing the video to think that all covers will open and close that easily. I can see someone calling in saying “But the hinge on your video shows it almost opening and closing by itself. I have to pull it open and push it closed. What’s up with that?”
